Moving can be stressful. Andy aims to keep it simple!
Operating since 2007, Andy Thompson is an owner-driver based one hour from London, in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Andy provides a man with a van for small house removals in Aylesbury, collections and deliveries for both private individuals and businesses needing light goods, furniture and personal effects moved, either locally in the Buckinghamshire area or from London and South East England to ANYWHERE IN THE UK, including Northern Ireland.
"Man and van" means exactly that. ONE man and a van. The driver is happy to assist with loading and carrying your items in and out of your property but you will also be required to help with the heavier items. By not going double-manned your price is kept to the minimum possible, a little more than self-drive but less than a full removals service. Having said that, if your job can be completed in a couple of hours it will normally cost less than hiring a self-drive van for the day
The Owner/Driver/Porter: Andy Thompson has worked in transport and warehousing most of his working life and is a Class 1 HGV licence holder. Taking a pride in being one of the best "man and vans" he aims to offer a helpful, polite, punctual and low-cost small removals service, available 24/7 and often at short notice whenever possible .
Why hire a self drive van for your house move between England and Northern Ireland when you can hire a man and van?
A budget alternative to traditional moving companies Andy Thompson can take FULL LOADS or HALF LOADS to or from Northern Ireland and is often able to offer a reduced price if there is something to go the other way on the date you require.
I'm often asked, "Will all my stuff fit in the van?"
You will need to be happy that all your items would fit into the van before making a firm house removals booking and to help you decide this, the internal dimensions of the loadspace are below. If you are only booking a half-load you would have the same height and width but only HALF of the length measurement.
The easiest way to work out if it will all fit into the van is for you to go into your largest room and measure out the dimensions below. Then imagine everything packed very tightly into that space.
When your furniture and belongings are on the van I'll waste no space and use every little gap I can, if necessary, to stow smaller items
...."I can't perform miracles but I do try to achieve the next best thing!"
Any dismantling of furniture will also save space on the van but if this has to be done it should be done prior to my arrival at the collection address as any unforeseen problems with tools/dismantling on the day will mean extra time and could therefore increase your cost. This would also mean a later arrival time at the destination address and for removals between England and Northern Ireland it could mean the late arrival of the van at the ferry port.
Many customers are surprised how much will fit into the van when it's packed well. Be aware that your belongings will often look more when they're spread loosely around your house or flat.
Measurements of the loadspace:
Length: 3390 mm (approx. 11 feet)
Width: 1800 mm (just under 6 feet)
Height: 1860 mm (6 feet)
Max weight of load: 1200 kgs (1.2 metric tonnes)
Half load approx 5.5 cubic metres
Full load approx 11 cubic metres
